Ethiopia’s new investment law – what does it mean for foreign investors?

The Ethiopian House of Peoples’ Representatives adopted Investment Proclamation No. 1180/2020 on 30 January 2020, which replaces Proclamation No.769/2012. We have produced a briefing paper, in partnership with Clifford Chance, analysing key aspects of the new law that we deem to be relevant for foreign companies planning to invest in Ethiopia or conducting business with Ethiopian parties. Tadesse Kiros Law Office Co-hosts Seminar on the Ethiopian Power Sector

Representatives from both the private and the public sectors such as Siemens, General Electric, IFC, ENGIE, the Ethiopian Energy Authority, Ministry of Finance, and Investment Commission were in attendance.
